The following pages will soon be updated with the many different idea's and considerations that I've had over the years, with the intention of presenting a clear and organized picture of how the current incarnation of my fantasy setting came to be.
The following pages will soon be updated with the many different idea's and considerations that I've had over the years, with the intention of presenting a clear and organized picture of how the current incarnation of my fantasy setting came to be.
Amongst the many pieces of information that you readers will be introduced to, is the long and perilous story of the hundreds of different setting ideas that I have been working with, how and why they were eventually scrapped and how many of their elements found their way into the current project. In this why the depiction of my current project will be as much a tale of my personal development as an aspiring fantasy writer, as it will a presentation of projects many different elements. In this way, I hope, my reasons for structuring the world the way I have as well as the overreaching reasons for writing the story will become as clear as possible for all interested readers.
The contents of the first update in this (eventually) long series, to be posted as soon as I can muster the time to write it, will introduce you to challenges which, both together and as separate entities, have hampered my creative endeavors to the point of near stagnation; the question of whether the setting should be primarily traditional (the standard medieval story with elves and dragons) or "modern" (industrialization, colonialism and imperialism).
