One of the advantages Shatterbridge has is that it has brought together people with different areas of expertise, from linguistics to gunpowder warfare. My studies are in history, business and philosophy - so certain issues are best left addressed by my fellow players. So I'll be posting questions here that you can all help me answer, to ensure realism ingame. For example: - How long would it take to sail from the Faloran isle to Sali?
- On horseback, how long would it take to travel from one end of the Dominion to another?

The frigates the Faloran Republic uses can probably average 120 nautical miles a day with good winds. The smaller ships that are rigged for speed can roughly do 1.5 times more than that based on how good the winds are.
So, a eyeball check of the map and some rough math. It would take about 2-3 days to sail from the Western tip of the Faloran Isle to the Port of Sojo.
A Faloran Frigate can do 10-12 Knots with Good Winds. A Sloop can do about 13-15 Knots with Good Winds. Knots in this case is Nautical Miles per hour.

Do you have any estimate for what a Dominion ship would travel in comparison from the same location? And if you're capable of working that out easily, I would finally also appreciate the distance that a Dominion ship would take travelling from one end of the Dominion to the other, and same for a Faloran ship.
These will all be important calculations, so thank you greatly.
On a different note, the final part of the wiki that needs to be made is Levelling Up. This is because I haven't decided yet what number of skill points and attribute points to award upon hitting 100 experience. I was thinking something like 8 skill points per level and 1 attribute point - or else 1 attribute point every 2 levels. I can adapt how regularly people level up to the game itself.

Dominion ships, if they are still using oar powered flat bottomed Tiremes or Quadremes would do about 8 knots all the time. Assuming they had sufficient crew to keep the rowing going all day. The sail helps, but it is the rowers that really push the ship forward.
On average though, lets estimate that a Dominion ship can do 30-50 miles per day. Call it an average of 40 miles. They can't row all the time and they probably anchor at night because they stay close to the shore line. It would take about a month of travel to go from the Eastern tip to one of the port cities at the far west. A Faloran Navy ship, assuming it was getting good winds could do it in roughly half the time. A fast ship? A little bit less than that.
The crux of the matter there is good winds. The Dominion ship will move all the time. While if the Faloran ship hits dead winds, it is not moving.

Thank you again, Sean.
The question about Levelling Up remains. If I don't get feedback by the time somebody levels up I will rely on my own judgement.
Another question - what should the winters be like across this map? Sali receives snow, I imagine, but what parts of the Dominion would not, for example? Does Malvern get any snow at all?

As per DnD, and a few other games, Stats are the core of a person. So for them, the level up points effect all of the other skills and their bonuses. There should be 1 point every two levels, or 2 points for every three levels. As far as skills, 8 points is a lot, so i propose 5 or 6 instead, to limit any rampant skill hoarders.
Just keep that in mind with your challenges, that they should be around the same level for an even challenge.

this is without knowing any of the latitudes on the map, but I would assume nothing south of Samar gets snow except for in the mountainous areas. Everything else would likely get snow except for the south and some of the east coasts of Varantium, and the plutars.
EDIT: And the tenkou and areas around it would probably be snow for a good portion of the year
